The high launch price of $1650 for the Core i7 XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 is now just ~$1200 after taxes, discounts, and gift cards. The Dell convertible is notable for being the first to ship with Intel's new Ice Lake Core i7-1065G7 CPU and also one of the few convertibles with a 16:10 display.

Good deals always come to those who are patient enough to wait instead of jumping in on day one. From now until October 10, Dell will take $200 off the XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 if configured above $1599 and they will also throw in a $200 prepaid Visa gift card on top for a total of $400 off the final price. The savings are significant enough that you can essentially own a high-end Core i7 configuration for less than the Core i5 SKU with only half the RAM.

Users would have to enter '200OFF1599' at checkout to receive the first discount and then double-check the cart to make sure that the $200 Visa gift card will be applied.

We recently had the chance to check out both the Core i3 and Core i7 SKUs. The 16:10 display is probably the most impressive aspect of the XPS 13 2-in-1 as it is brighter than what most other subnotebooks tend to offer. The performance of the Core i7 SKU in particular is fast enough to play undemanding games like Rocket League or DOTA 2 at 1080p and low settings. Nonetheless, we observed audio and USB issues on one of our test units and so we highly recommend checking for any abnormalities immediately after purchasing.

To be transparent, Notebookcheck receives no commission or incentives through this particular deal. The limited time offer is notable enough that we simply wanted to share it with our readers who may be on the fence for a new XPS laptop.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
