The S3225QS is a new and high-resolution monitor from Dell that should be well-suited for typical office usage and more. The large 32-inch VA panel also sports an increased refresh rate and supports Adaptive Sync Premium.
Dell is further expanding its already huge lineup of monitors. More specifically, the S3225QS is a new monitor that is now available directly at Dell’s official online store for a list price of $369. It features a 31.5-inch panel that should perform well in many situations thanks to a 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, which should look very sharp even at closer viewing distances.
Dell has opted for a VA panel, which has lower contrasts than an OLED display but should be suitable even for occasional gaming. The S3225QS has a refresh rate of 120Hz and supports AMD’s FreeSync Premium, which matches the refresh rate of the monitor to the rendered fps in games. The American company also advertises a gray-to-gray response time of 4 milliseconds.
In terms of brightness, the new Dell monitor can hit 300 nits and offers a contrast ratio of 3000:1. Additionally, the sRGB (99%) and DCI-P3 (95%) color spaces are almost fully covered. Two speakers are built-in, and the 4K monitor can be hooked up via two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort. However, advanced features like a USB hub or USB-C connectivity are missing. That said, the Dell S3225QS’s height, tilt and slant can be adjusted, which should make it reasonably ergonomic.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
