Dell Precision 3570 and Precision 3571 mobile workstations announced with Intel Alder Lake and latest Nvidia workstation GPUs
Dell is offering tangible upgrades to its entry-level Precision 3000 series workstations. The new Precision 3570 and Precision 3571 now get welcome upgrades to Intel 12th gen Alder Lake processors, RTX A2000 graphics, and up to 4K displays.
Dell Precision 3570
The Dell Precision 3570 offers a choice of several Alder Lake-U and Alder Lake-P processors from the Core i5-1235U all the way to the Core i7-1280P. Buyers get to choose from several memory configurations including DDR4-3200 and DDR5-4800 options. Dell continues to feature M.2 2230 SSDs, but there are options of the more conventional M.2 2280 options as well.
Dell offers several display options with the Precision 3570 that range from 15-inch 1366 x 768 to 15-inch UHD 3840 x 2160 60 Hz options. The UHD panel can go up to 400 nits brightness and covers 100% sRGB. Powering these displays are the optional Nvidia Quadro T550 or the newly announced Nvidia RTX A500 discrete graphics. The RTX A500 features 2,048 CUDA cores, 4 GB of 14 Gbps GDDR6 VRAM, and a 64-bit 112 GBps memory bandwidth.
Port selection includes 1x Ethernet, 2x USB 3.2 Gen1, 2x Thunderbolt 4, 1x HDMI 2.0, a combo audio jack, a microSD card slot, and an optional micro-SIM tray. Networking needs are addressed by the Intel Wi-Fi AX211 Wi-Fi 6E WLAN card, but options from Realtek (802.11ac) and MediaTek (802.11ax) are also available. Customers can also choose to include an Intel XMM 7360 LTE modem for WWAN.
Dell offers four battery choices clubbed into 3-cell 4 Whr and 4-cell 58 Whr options. Correspondingly, you get either 65 W, 90 W, or 130 W power adapters.
The Dell Precision 3570 will be available from April 2022. Pricing is yet to be announced.
Dell Precision 3571
The Dell Precision 3571 takes things a step higher with the inclusion of Intel 12th gen Alder Lake-H processors starting from the Core i5-12500H and going all the way to the Core i9-12900H. There are no DDR4 RAM options here, but buyers can configure the Precision 3571 with up to 64 GB of DDR5-4800 memory. Once again, Dell offers several NVMe storage options in both M.2 2230 and M.2 2280 form factors.
You also get more powerful discrete graphics with the Precision 3571. These include the Nvidia Quadro T600, RTX A1000, and RTX A2000 options. The RTX A1000 is similar to the RTX A500 in the Precision 3570 above but offers a full 128-bit 224 GBps memory bandwidth. The RTX A2000, on the other hand, comes with 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM also with a 224 GBps bandwidth.
Display options and port selection are similar to that of the Precision 3570 including the availability of an optional UHD 60 Hz panel. There's no MediaTek Wi-Fi option with the Precision 3571, but you do get Realtek Wi-Fi 5 and Intel AX211 Wi-Fi 6E with or without Bluetooth 5.2. Those who need WWAN will be served by the Intel XMM 7360 LTE or Intel 5000 5G modems.
Battery capacity is another major differentiator from the Precision 3570. The Precision 3571 offers 4-cell 64 Whr and 6-cell 97 Whr battery options along with 90 W or 130 W adapters.
The Dell Precision 3571 will be available from April 2022. Pricing information will be revealed at a later date.
