Dell Precision 5770: High-end business laptop announced with Intel Alder Lake processors and a touch-enabled 4K screen
Dell has officially unveiled the Precision 5770, an enterprise-centric laptop running high-end hardware. It is similar to the Precision 5570 and Precision 5470, but it packs a remarkably larger screen and offers additional hardware options. It will be available for purchase alongside the other two models in April 2022.
Unlike its siblings with smaller screens, the Dell Precision 5770's CPU options max out at an Intel Core i9-12900H (no K model). However, GPU options include the beefier Nvidia RTX A3000 (16 GB VRAM) and the RTX A2000 (8 GB VRAM), both of which are rated at 60 W. Memory and storage configurations are mostly identical, with the laptop supporting up to 64 GB of 4,800 MT/s DDR5 RAM and a 4 TB NVMe SSD.
The Dell Precision 5770 ships with a 17-inch IPS LCD panel. One version has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200, while the other ups it to 3,840 x 2,400. Both refresh at 60 Hz and have a brightness of 500 nits. However, the FHD+ version doesn't support touch inputs and covers 100% of the sRGB colour gamut, whereas the UHD+ variant is touch-enabled and a lot more colour accurate.
Keeping in line with its siblings, the Dell Precision 5770 is bereft of USB Type-A ports and chooses to rely on four Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, all of which can output display and charge the laptop. There's a 3.5 mm combo audio jack and an SD card reader thrown in for good measure. Lastly, wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
The Dell Precision 5770 can feature a 56 Wh or a 97 Wh battery, depending on the model, both of which can be charged at 130 W. Other features include a 720p webcam with Windows Hello functionality, a fingerprint sensor baked into the power button, and two 2.5 W speakers.
