Dell has announced the Latitude 5530, the largest Latitude 5000 machine revealed today. The Latitude 5530 is also the only member of the Latitude 5000 series with 28 W processors, a 4K display and an optional dedicated GPU.

Dell has revealed the Latitude 5530, a 15.6-inch machine that will be available with 11th Gen and 12th Gen Intel Core processors. Supposedly, Dell will offer the Latitude 5530 with 15 W and 28 W processors, unlike the Latitude 5330 and Latitude 5430. Moreover, the Latitude 5530 is the only member of the new Latitude 5000 family that can be configured with a dedicated GPU.

Unfortunately, Dell has opted for the GeForce MX450, not a GeForce GTX or GeForce RTX equivalent. Currently, NVIDIA sells four versions of the GeForce MX450 that vary wildly in performance. Dell has not provided any details about with which GeForce MX450 it has equipped the Latitude 5530, though. Still, the dedicated GPU option should outperform its integrated siblings.

Moreover, Dell claims that the Latitude 5530 supports up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM RAM and a 2 TB M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD. There are numerous display options too, as is also the case for the Latitude 5330 and Latitude 5430. Specifically, Dell will sell the Latitude 5530 with the following display options:

  • 15.6-inch HD (1,366x768) Anti Glare, 16x9, Non-touch, TN, 220 nits, 45% NTSC
  • 15.6-inch FHD (1,920x1,080) Anti-Glare, 16x9, Non-touch, WVA, 250nits, 45% NTSC
  • 15.6-inch FHD (1,920x1,080) Anti-Glare, 16x9, Touch, WVA, 250nits, 45% NTSC
  • 15.6-inch FHD (1,920x1,080) Anti-Glare, 16x9, Non-touch, WVA, Super Low Power, ComfortView Plus Low Blue Light, 400nits, sRGB 100%
  • 15.6-inch UHD (3,840x2,160) Anti-Glare, 16x9, Non-touch, WVA, Super Low Power, ComfortView Plus Low Blue Light, 400nits, sRGB 100%

Furthermore, the 1.59 kg machine has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, matched by dual USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A connections, a HDMI 2.0 port and an RJ45 Ethernet jack, among other ports. Incidentally, Dell claims that there will be optional uSIM card trays, SmartCard readers and fingerprint readers. All Latitude 5530 configurations will measure 357.8 x 233.33 x 20.77 mm and have SD card readers, a headphone jack and a wedge-shaped lock slot.
