IFA 2023 | Dangbei Atom: New 1080p laser projector presented with compact dimensions and native Google TV support
Dangbei has presented a new laser projector as part of its IFA 2023 showcase. According to the company, the Dangbei Atom is its first laser projector running Google TV, arguably making it more versatile than its other offerings. Thus, the projector will support third-party app installation through the Google Play Store, plus Hey Google voice commands and Chromecast casting from compatible devices.
Supposedly, the Dangbei Atom measures 19.5 x 19.5 x 4.74 cm and weighs 1.27 kg, which would also make it one of the most compact laser projectors around. Nonetheless, the Dangbei Atom is said to be capable of creating up to 180-inch projections in 1080p with 1,200 ISO Lumens peak brightness. However, Dangbei has not provided any other image specifications yet, though.
Additionally, the ALPD projector supports Dolby Audio, autofocus and auto keystone correction, as well as the hardware necessary to detect a mounted screen and avoid obstacles. Dangbei has not shared a release date yet, nor has it set expectations as to how much the Atom will cost. With that said, we would expect the Dangbei Atom to retail for less than the Dangbei Mars, which retails for US$999.99. Please see Dangbei's website for more information, where you can also sign up for product updates.
