DOOGEE S200 debuts as rugged Android 14 smartphone with Mecha Design and ~10,000mAh battery
DOOGEE has revitalized the Smart Rear Display from the S98 in its latest smartphone, which is a watch-like "Mecha Design" 1.32-inch screen found on the back of the device.
The S200's main rear camera might be shunted to the side as a result, yet is still touted as a 100MP Ultra-Clear shooter enhanced with a new Morpho Imaging Algorithm rated to use AI in order to conserve detail, clarity and color quality. It is joined by a 20MP Night Vision camera in the new handset.
It is more like the V30 Pro on the inside with the same Dimensity 7050 platform - however, the SoC drives a larger 6.72-inch display (although it, unlike the Smart Rear Display, is not AMOLED).
Oddly, it is rated for a 2.4K (or 1080 x 2400) resolution, and is also apparently 16:7 rather than 20:9 or even 16:10. Those unusual specs probably have something to do with the 86% screen-to-body ratio left to it by the S200's Dragon Scale shell, touted to withstand dirt, water and drops from heights of up to 1.8 meters.
DOOGEE also asserts that the S200 can have up to 32GB of RAM, although 20GB of that would be derived from its 256GB of internal storage with a software-based Memory Extension feature.
The new Android 14 device also supports NFC, microSD cards and an estimated 492 hours on standby thanks to a 10,100mAh battery - however, it will also make for "Ultra-Long" charging sessions with a 33W USB-C port.
The S200 is available through DOOGEE for $399.99 in silver or gray from now, and is projected to join its S Punk predecessor on Amazon from October 10, 2024.
