HTC A101 Plus Edition launches as a cheap tablet with an 11-inch 16:10 display
The HTC A101 Plus Edition tablet is positioned in the lower mid-range, competing directly with the popular Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. Compared to the HTC A101 from 2022, HTC has given the device a slightly larger display in 16:10 format, the diagonal of which has increased from 10 to 10.95 inches.
The IPS panel has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 and the screen edges are slightly narrower than on the predecessor model. The design has been modernized, which is particularly noticeable in the larger, rectangular camera module. The HTC A101 Plus Edition has a 13 MP dual camera on the back and an 8 MP selfie camera, which sits discreetly in the frame and has been positioned so that it is centered for video chats in landscape format.
At 7000 mAh, the battery is the same size as the previous model and is charged via USB-C with up to 10 watts. With dimensions of 25.6 x 16.8 x 0.75 cm, the Plus Edition remains relatively compact. However, HTC missed the opportunity to give the processor a long overdue upgrade, as the company has installed a Unisoc Tiger T606, which is even slightly slower than the predecessor's Unisoc Tiger T618. The T606 has two ARM Cortex-A75 performance cores with clock speeds of up to 1.6 GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores.
Price and availability
The HTC A101 Plus Edition will be initially launched in Russia for RUB 15,990 (approx. $175), exclusively with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB flash storage. HTC has not yet confirmed whether the tablet will also be launched internationally.
