The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 has appeared in numerous leaks leading up to the expected December launch, with some rumours and leaks claiming that the new compact camera would feature everything from a variable aperture to a 20% battery life upgrade, and even a dual-lens and dual-screen setup. A new leak from Photorabz, however, claims that some of these prior leaks are inaccurate.
DJI Pocket 4 with dual cameras and one screen
According to the leaker, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 will feature two camera sensor setups, with the compact camera's main sensor rumoured to be the 1-inch, 50 MP sensor with variable aperture from the recently released Action 6 compact action camera (curr. $369 on Amazon). The secondary sensor appears to be a 1/1.3-inch sensor, and it is expected that this secondary sensor will be something like a square sensor to offer more flexibility for situations like vertical video for social media.
Regarding what appeared to be a secondary screen on some leaked images of the Pocket 4, the leaker says that this will not be a secondary screen, at least not one that will serve as an image preview. He theorises that this secondary screen might be a display for showing camera settings or something similar, but there has been no further confirmation about this display's functionality.
The leaker also verified the previously revealed battery life upgrade, which he claims will deliver up to 20% more video record times, although it's unclear what the exact battery size increase will be. Given the increased power draw from the sensor upgrades and what looks to be a bigger scree, it stands to reason that the new battery pack will be more than 20% larger. Despite this, the new Pocket 4 will apparently be just as compact as and lighter than the Pocket 3 that came before it.
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is slated to launch sometime in December as a replacement for the Pocket 3, although an exact release date is not known, and the launch may be pushed back due to tariffs and other international market conditions. At the time of writing, DJI is slated to be banned from the US by the FCC on December 23, 2025, which will likely mean the release date will be pushed back into 2026.
