The Azoth 96 HE is an upgrade over earlier models in the series, featuring hot-swappable ROG HFX V2 magnetic switches. The switches can be adjusted in 0.01 mm increments and support actuation point tuning from 0.1 mm to 3.5 mm.
The new gaming keyboard also comes with Asus’ proprietary ROG Hall sensor tech. The company claims its implementation of the Hall Effect promises 0.01 mm keystroke detection, smoother input tolerance, and lower power consumption.
According to Asus, each keyboard is calibrated by measuring each key's travel distance and using an algorithm to maintain consistent accuracy. This step is supposed to give the Azoth 96 HE an edge during fast-paced gaming sessions.
Tri-mode connectivity and 8K polling
The Azoth 96 HE can connect through Bluetooth, wired USB, or ROG SpeedNova 8K wireless. The multiple options allow the keyboard to link to up to five devices simultaneously. Asus says it can send updates to the computer 8,000 times per second, whether connected wirelessly or via a wired connection, without a booster accessory.
Touchscreen, damping layers, and customizable design
The Azoth 96 HE has a 1.47-inch high-resolution touch-enabled OLED screen for reading system and keyboard information. It also features a three-way knob for adjusting actuation points and other settings directly.
The keyboard is designed to reduce pinging and vibration thanks to a combination of a six-layer dampening system and a gasket mount. It is equipped with a metal top cover, and users can opt for keycaps.
Availability
The ROG Azoth 96 HE can now be ordered in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland for €399.99 (VAT included). It is available initially through Cyberport, but specialist and online retailers will stock it starting in January.
