It seems that DJI has yet another drone planned, having just announced the Mavic 3M with five cameras. According to multiple sources, the company is on the verge of releasing the Mini 3, a cheaper alternative to the Mini 3 Pro that also debuted earlier this year. While DJI has not teased the Mini 3 yet, the FCC has already certified the device in the US, generally a nailed-on sign of an imminent product release.
Additionally, @OsitaLV recently shared the first photo of the Mini 3 on Twitter, with the hands-on image matching the battery design shown by the FCC. For reference, the need to register the Mini 3 under a different FCC ID implies that the drone features major changes from the Mini 3 Pro. To that effect, DJI has assigned the Mini 3 a different model number too, MT3PD.
Unfortunately, it is unknown at this stage what these changes are. Availability has not leaked yet either, although we imagine that DJI will announce the Mini 3 before the end of the year with sales starting in late December or early January. With the Mini 2 and Mini 3 Pro retailing for US$449 and US$669, respectively, it would seem likely that the Mini 3 will arrive for approximately US$550 with equivalent pricing for other markets.
