Chevrolet Blazer EV teased in new image ahead of July reveal date
Chevrolet has shared a new teaser image for the Blazer EV. The company has also announced that the car will be revealed in full on July 18th. The latest picture shows a pre-production model, with the company caveating that the production version will differ from this image. It’s worth noting that the EV’s design is quite different from the gas-powered Blazer that is currently on the market.
Following the unveiling this summer, the SS or Super Sport version of the car will be available in Spring 2023. The Super Sport trim is a signature performance package offered across multiple Chevrolet models. The SS badge, alongside apparently ultra-thin tires, suggests that the vehicle will be more expensive than the recently announced Equinox, which is expected to retail for US$30,000.
It is anticipated that the Chevrolet Blaze will be built on General Motor’s Ultium EV platform, also used in the Hummer EV and the Cadillac Lyriq. GM has said that it hopes that using the same platform across multiple electric models will help speed up the production process. Further details, such as the range and acceleration, are expected to be announced next month. It is unclear when GM will reveal the price of this new Chevrolet EV.
