2024 Polestar 5 will be showcased this month alongside Polestar 2 BST edition 270
This month, the Polestar 5 will be showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The car will take part in the hill climb race and will also be displayed on the company’s stand in the First Glance paddock. New pictures of the four-door electric vehicle shared by the company (below) show the EV in action. The model builds on the concept revealed in 2020, with a full production version expected to arrive in 2024.
The 5 is the first car developed in the UK and purely by Polestar; other models have used a Volvo base. The car’s body is made chiefly from bonded aluminum, designed to provide a supercar-level driving experience.
At the same event, the Polestar 2 BST edition 270 will also be unveiled. As the name suggests, only 270 of these cars will be available globally. This limited edition car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (~97 kph) in 4.2 seconds, with 469 bhp.
Upgrades versus the standard model include Öhlins front and rear dampers, 21-in Gloss Black diamond-cut alloy wheels and custom Pirelli P Zero tyres. Plus, the performance software has been enhanced for greater acceleration, torque and power. You can now pre-register for a Polestar 2 BST edition 270, starting at £68,900 (~US$82,805).
