Casio’s newest full-metal G-SHOCKs take the brand’s toughest design and give it an AI-assisted makeover. The new GMW-BZ5000 lineup keeps the classic square look but adds smarter engineering, a sharper display, and an even sleeker metal finish. They’re rolling out in Japan first, with global availability likely to follow.

Casio has just launched three premium Full Metal G-Shock watches: GMW-BZ5000GD-9JF, GMW-BZ5000BD-1JF, GMW-BZ5000D-1JF. We already know a great deal about the lineup thanks to the steady stream of leaks over the past weeks, but there are some interesting bits in the official announcement that we weren’t aware of. Casio says these watches were co-designed with the help of AI, using more than four decades of shock-resistance data to fine-tune the structure.

All three share the same construction and design but differ in terms of colorways. The GMW-BZ5000D-1JF is Silver, the GMW-BZ5000GD-9JF sports a Gold finish, while the GMW-BZ5000BD-1JF features a Gray body with Gold accents. Despite their elegant look and full-metal construction, these watches are every bit as tough as their resin-clad siblings, boasting 20 ATM water resistance and shock resistance.

The new structure connects the bezel and center case vertically, giving the watches a distinct layered profile visible from the side. On the inside, a resin inner protector helps absorb impacts, and despite the all-metal exterior still meets G-SHOCK’s strict durability standards. The watches are manufactured at Casio’s Yamagata factory.

Casio also equipped the lineup with a high-resolution MIP LCD for improved visibility and detail. Users can toggle between four basic clock layouts and even switch to a retro 7-segment font through the Casio Watches app. Connectivity options include Bluetooth and Multiband 6 for automatic time adjustment, while solar charging ensures reliable, low-maintenance operation.

The G-Shock GMW-BZ5000GD-9JF and GMW-BZ5000BD-1JF are priced at ¥102,300 (~$666), while the GMW-BZ5000D-1JF will cost ¥93,500 (~$609). The watches are launching first in Japan, with a global release likely to follow soon.
