More details about the upcoming Casio G-Shock GW-BX5600 and G-Shock GMW-BZ5000 watches appear to have been revealed in a new report. The leak seems to confirm details about each model and it's module: the GW-BX5600 is expected to have module 3578, and the GMW-BZ5000 module 3575.
Reputable blog G-Central writes that both the GW-BX5600 and the GMW-BZ5000 are thought to be shock-resistant and water-resistant to 200 m. As shown in earlier leaked images, they will be radio-controlled (Multiband 6), with Bluetooth connectivity for Smartphone Link. Plus, they will offer Tough Solar charging, with the new report mentioning a CTL1616 battery. It has also been suggested that these watches will charge faster from medium and high battery levels compared to the older GMW-B5000; for example, a high to full charge could take six rather than ten hours.
It has also been reported that the stopwatches on the GW-BX5600 and GMW-BZ5000 will support 1/100th second measurements for up to 60 minutes, making them the first MIP LCD G-Shocks with this functionality. Another upgrade is a greater number of cities in the world time zone selection, with 55 places across 38 time zones. However, users will only be able to select two time zones to switch between; older models like the GMW-B5000 offered up to five selected zones.
The G-Shock GW-BX5600 and G-Shock GMW-BZ5000 watches are also said to feature five daily alarms, one with a snooze feature, a 24-hour countdown timer and an LED backlight with an up to three-second duration. It is also worth noting that, while there will be two date formats to choose from, DD-MM and MM-DD, users will not be able to change the language for the day of the week. Plus, you will not be able to switch the polarity of the display.
G-Central does not name the source of this leak. Fans will not have to wait long for the specifications of the Casio G-Shock GW-BX5600 watch to be confirmed, as this will launch on November 1st in Japan. The release date of the Casio G-Shock GMW-BZ5000 remains unknown, though it is expected to arrive in this market before the end of 2025.
