The new GW-BX5600 duo was arguably one of the most awaited Casio watches from 2025 so far. After all, the introduction of the MIP LCD to the classic square design is a key turning point for the lineup. After never-ending leaks from popular Casio-related blogs and Reddit users, the two watches have finally secured listings on Casio's Japan website. Both the GW-BX5600-1JF and the GW-BX5600-1A1JF watches are now live for pre-order, indicating that they will reach expecting customers this month (November) itself.
Both models feature Casio's latest high-definition MIP LCD, with improved clarity over the standard DW-5600 display. The GW-BX5600-1JF uses the signature G-Shock brick motif with a light accent ring, while the GW-BX5600-1A1JF features a more subdued, full blackout look.
The core measurements are still faithful to the original: 49.1 × 49.1 × 13.4 mm and 51g total weight. Casio uses biomass-derived resin for the case, band, and bezel. Both watches offer 20-bar (200 meters) water resistance and the classic shock resistance that has come to define the square G-Shock lineage.
Functionality steps up with full Tough Solar charging, Multi Band 6 atomic time sync, and now Bluetooth, so users can now sync their watch with a smartphone for instant clock correction and access to the Casio Watches app for display format control, time and place logging, and more. The MIP LCD supports multiple display layouts switchable through the app - now, users can customize info density and contrast.
Other notable specs include double LED backlight, five daily alarms (including one with a snooze feature), 24-hour auto calendar, stopwatch, countdown timer, world time (55 cities, 38 time zones), and a battery save mode for up to 22 months on standby. In daily use with solar charging, the expected battery longevity is about six months per full charge.
Both variants are listed at ¥30,800 (~$200) on Casio Japan and are scheduled to begin shipping in November 2025, with pre-orders now open as stated before. Alternatively, you can check out the Casio G-Shock GWM5610-1 on Amazon.
