Casio unveils exclusive Mother 3-themed G-Shock for game's 20th anniversary

Casio has just unveiled a limited-edition G-Shock inspired by Nintendo’s Mother, making the game’s 20th anniversary. Built on the iconic DW-5600 shell, the model uses a bright sunflower-yellow case and band, a nod to the sunflower fields that appear in the game's sixth chapter, while the red outline echoes the Mother box art.

The collaboration is packed with references for fans of the game. For example, the strap is decorated with pixel-art Mr. Saturn characters, and the LED backlight reveals a sunflower field graphic when activated. Casio has also added a detachable gold-colored wire guard over the display, a feature that has not been seen in earlier Mother-themed releases. A “Potential!” engraving appears on the steel case back, and the watch comes packaged inside a themed metal storage tin.

Otherwise, the watch retains the standard G-Shock specs, including shock resistance, 200m water resistance, and an estimated five-year battery life. Priced at ¥19,800 (approx. $122), it will be sold exclusively in Japan via a lottery from July 17 to July 30.
