Casio has unveiled five new Edifice EFK-100D watches, featuring mechanical movements—a first for the brand. These automatic timepieces feature a motorsport-inspired design, 40-hour power reserve, and 100-meter water resistance. Two models utilize carbon fiber for a unique appearance and weight savings.

Casio has unveiled four new Edifice EFK-100D watches for the international market, and a fifth model only for the Japanese market. These include an Edifice with a forged carbon dial for automatic watch enthusiasts who enjoy the brand's concept of 'Speed & Intelligence' and motorsports design theme.

A sapphire crystal face protects the three dial hands below, including the sweep second hand, and the date display at the 6 o'clock position. The hands are driven by mechanical movements, a first for Casio watches. The magnetic-resistant movement uses 24 jewels and operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour for a daily accuracy of -35 to +45 seconds. See-through backs on the 39 mm case allow collectors to see the movements in operation.

The EFK-100CD-1A features a black dial made from resin-embedded carbon fiber that is forged under high pressure, a composite material that is also used in high-performance sports cars. The other three feature regular blue (EFK-100D-2A), green (EFK-100D-3A), or white-colored (EFK-100D-7A) dials. The automatic winding mechanisms are coupled with a 40-hour power reserve, and the watches have a 100 meter (328 ft.) water resistance.

The Edifices measure 43.5 × 39 × 12.5 mm (1.7 x 1.5 x 0.5 in.) and weigh 148 g (5.2 oz). The watches use stainless steel bands with a three-fold clasp that unlatches with one touch. Sales of the four Edifices are scheduled to begin in August 2025 for international markets, and July 2025 for the Japanese market. International prices have not yet been announced, but the equivalent Japanese models are priced as follows:

  • Black EFK-100YCD-1AJF - 55,000 yen (~$379)
  • Blue EFK-100YD-2AJF, Green EFK-100YD-3AJF, and White EFK-100YD-7A - 49,500 yen (~$341).

The all-black EFK-100XPB-1AJF Edifice for the Japanese market drops the weight even further to 87 g (3.1 oz.) through the use of a carbon fiber case, carbon fiber dial, and resin band. This special edition has an MSRP of 74,800 yen (~$515).
