After attaining pre-order status in Japan earlier this month, two new Casio models in the high-end MR-G series: the MRG-B2000BG-3AJR and the MRG-B2000RG-3AJR are now officially available to buy. Both are now listed on the Casio Japan website for ¥385,000 (around $2,690), and each one features premium titanium builds, Bluetooth connectivity, and a color scheme rooted in samurai tradition.
The design centers on a traditional Japanese hue called "kurogane-iro", a deep blue-green tone historically found in heated iron. Casio has used a layered hardening process and green DLC coating to replicate this tone across the titanium exterior, which gives both models a rich, matte-metal finish. The visual cues are further inspired by samurai armor, including sword grain patterns and mythological symbols like the turtle shell crest of Bishamonten - a deity associated with strength.
The MRG-B2000BG-3AJR comes with a brushed titanium bezel and matching titanium bracelet. In contrast, the MRG-B2000RG-3AJR uses a recrystallized titanium bezel paired with a Durasoft fluoro rubber band for a slightly lighter and sportier feel. The RG model weighs 138g, while the BG tips the scale at 150g.
Despite the differences in exterior, both watches share very identical internals. You get Multiband 6 radio control, Bluetooth smartphone link support, and solar charging via Tough Solar. Functions include dual time zones, a 1-second chronograph (24-hour max), countdown timer, daily alarm, and a full auto-calendar. Casio also equips both models with sapphire crystal glass, LED backlight, 20 bar water resistance, and a shock-resistant structure.
Like other MR-G models, these watches are fully compatible with the Casio Watches app, letting users sync time, adjust world time zones, and track watch status. Both models are expected to remain Japan-only for now, though the MRG-B2000BG-3A has already appeared on Casio’s UK website, which means a possible international release could be on the cards for the coming months. Apart from the online store, the watches are also purchasable via brick-and-mortar stores in Japan. Current availability as of writing is given below:
