Casio rolls out new WS-B1000 digital watch with two-year battery and app controls
The new Casio WS-B1000 digital watch is rolling out to more countries. According to the brand’s international site, the model was launched in June but has only recently become available in countries like the Netherlands, France, and Spain. Three versions of the wearable are on offer: the WS-B1000-1AV (black), the WS-B1000-2AV (blue) and the WS-B1000-8BV (white/black)
The WS-B1000 has a sporty design with an LCD and an LED backlight. The paired back feature set includes a step tracker, a 1/100-second stopwatch and memory for up to 200 records. The watch also shows progress towards your step goal, which can be set to between 1,000 and 50,000 steps. Bluetooth pairing with your phone allows features such as automatically updating the time to keep it accurate, switching to an alternative time zone, controls for up to five alarms and a phone finder tool. Plus, you can sync step count and stopwatch data between the watch and the app. Powered by a CR2016 battery, the watch will run for around two years.
The wearable comes with a perforated urethane band and is said to be water resistant up to 100 m (~330 ft) or 10 bar. The watch’s casing measures 46.2 × 41.3 × 11.6 mm (~1.8 x 1.6 x 0.5 inches) and the product weighs just 36g (~1.3 oz). You can buy the Casio WS-B1000 digital watch for $55.95/€59.90. Plus, customers in the US can currently buy the blue version of the wearable, WS-B1000-2AV, at the discounted price of $45.95 at Amazon; it is unclear how long this deal will last.
