Casio G-Shock x Beijing Guoan F.C. watch launching soon

Casio and Beijing Guoan F.C. have teamed up to bring a limited edition G-Shock DW-5600 watch to fans in China. The design of this Chinese Super League football team’s collaboration timepiece is said to be a “tribute to the 12th man”, its supporters.

The G-Shock x Beijing Guoan Football Club watch is a vibrant green color, a similar shade to the seats in the New Workers’ Stadium. The team’s logo can be seen when the backlight is illuminated and is etched on the caseback. Here, the limited number of the watch is also engraved. The limited edition set includes a collectible tin, G-Shock and Beijing Guoan F.C. pins, and a small co-branded football scarf.

As a DW-5600 series watch, its features are expected to include a 1/100th second stopwatch, hourly time signals, a multi-functional alarm and a countdown timer. These Shock Resistant watches typically offer 200 m water resistance and run for around five years on a replaceable CR2016 battery. Plus, they have a fully automatic calendar and should remain accurate to within 15 seconds each month.

According to the G-Shock Weibo account, the Casio G-Shock x Beijing Guoan Football Club limited edition watch will be sold at a pop-up event in the Beijing Huiju Shopping Center on July 12th. Only 2,000 units will be available, and it appears that the product will not be sold online. Other DW-5600 watches, like the DW5600UE-1V are available at Amazon in the US (curr. $69.00).
