Casio's long-rumored G-Steel refresh might be just around the corner. First spotted in April in a regulatory listing, the G-Shock GST-B1000D series has now leaked in its full glory, giving us our clearest look at its overall design and key specs.
Leaked renders shared by tipster @geesgshock on Instagram show off three new analog G-Steel watches: the GST-B1000D-1A in Gray, B1000D-2A in Blue, and B1000D-3A in Green. As you can see in the attached renders, all three watches feature a new bezel design that ditches the chunky outer markings found on earlier G-Steel watches. Instead, they have a slimmer, more understated metal frame that still feels premium but less busy.
The GST-B1000 reportedly measures 46.9 x 44.2 x 11.6mm and tips the scale at 118g. For reference, the existing GST-B100D-1A comes in at 58.1 x 53.8 x 14.1mm and 185g. The new model sports a case made of resin and reinforced steel parts, paired with a pure stainless steel band. From the renders, it looks like Casio has nailed the proportions and the polished and mature look suggests the watch is likely aimed at working professionals. There’s no digital display here, but you do get two inset dials for timekeeping and solar battery status. As far as features are concerned, the watch is said to offer Tough Solar charging and Bluetooth connectivity for time calibration and additional customizations through the Casio app.
According to @geesgshock, European pricing is expected to fall between €350 and €450, which would position the GST-B1000D as a high-end offering within the G-Steel range. There’s no word on official launch, but Great G-Shock World reports that the watch has already been spotted at a European retailer, hinting at a possible launch as early as August.
