Casio G-Shock DW5000R watch US pricing and release month now confirmed

The Casio G-Shock DW5000R-1A watch has finally appeared on the brand’s website in the US. The model officially launched in Japan on December 13th, though the wearable quickly sold out during a pre-order campaign at the start of the month.

The Casio US listing for the DW5000R, also known as the DW-5000R, reveals that the watch will sell for $200 in this market. This means that it sits between the DW5600 and GW5000 Series wearables; for example, the Casio G-Shock DW5600E-1V watch is currently available for $49.22 at Amazon.

The DW5000R is a recreation of the original DW-5000 model from the eighties. Like its predecessor, the new version has a stainless steel case and a similar band design. Features include a stopwatch, countdown timer, alarms and flash alerts. A White LED backlight illuminates the display, which is helpful when it’s dark, and the watch is expected to run for five years on its CR2016 battery.

According to the product listing, the Casio G-Shock DW5000R-1A watch will launch in the US at some point in December. This model is also expected to arrive in the UK either later this year or early in 2025, retailing for £179. The European pricing of the DW5000R has yet to be officially announced.
