Casio has discontinued the G-Shock AWG-M100FP-1A4JR watch, despite its relatively recent launch. The analog-digital model arrived in Japan in February 2024 as a wearable in the Fire Package series. Now, the product has been marked as “Discontinued” at the brand’s online store.
The AWG-M100FP-1A4JR shock resistant watch has a resin casing and band with an aluminum bezel and 20 ATM water resistance. Tough Solar charging helps to extend the hybrid watch’s battery life beyond six months, and an LED backlight makes it easier to read the display at night. The Casio wearable offers standard time radio wave reception (Multiband 6) in various regions, and the time can be shown in 12 or 24 hour formats for 48 cities worldwide. Other features include a 1/100th second stopwatch, a countdown timer and alarms.
It is unclear why Casio has decided to discontinue the G-Shock AWG-M100FP-1A4JR watch. Other AWG-100 M100 Series wearbles, like the AWG-M100SBB-1AJF and the AWG-M100SB-2AJF continue to retail for ¥31,900 (~$207) and ¥30,800( ~$200), respectively. The similar AWG-M100SB-2A is also available at Amazon US via third-party retailers, currently priced at $147.50.
