Activision has officially announced an entry into the highly competitive battle royale arena. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will feature a last man standing mode which has been called Blackout. Apparently, a huge map has been created for gamers to enjoy the full fast-paced Black Ops experience, which also means being able to utilize land, sea, and air vehicles. Blackout will also offer players the chance to choose favorite characters from previous games and is likely to offer up a serious challenge to the current Fortnite/PUBG battle royale hegemony.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 isn’t all about battle royale, though. It seems a lot of thought has been put into the Zombie mode, which will take players through interesting historical settings such as Ancient Rome, on board the RMS Titanic, and even Alcatraz Island. There will be no single-player campaign included with the upcoming title but apparently it will be possible to play some of the missions solo.
Black Ops 4 has been developed by Treyarch with Beenox acting as co-developer for the PC version, which will be made available on Blizzard’s gaming platform Battle.net. The game is scheduled for launch on October 12 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
