Activision has already announced the release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The game is expected to be launched on October 12 and will be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. However, with over five months left before the title hits the shelves, the rumor mill in regard to the game's features has gone into overdrive. Sources talking to Polygon have stated that the latest game in the popular series will not have a single-player campaign. Apparently, there wasn’t enough time to properly develop this mode for Black Ops 4, so focus has shifted to working on the Zombie mode and multiplayer features.
There has also been speculation that this could be Activision’s expected foray into the battle royale genre. Fortnite and PUBG are constantly hitting the headlines with outrageous statistics and sales, and it is likely the California-based video-game publisher would like to get a piece of the action while that particular genre is still hot. As is usual, Activision has not commented on the rumors in regard to the missing single-player campaign or the possible adoption of a battle royale mode. However, the game company has scheduled a reveal for May 17 which should address at least some of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 rumors.
