Breaking Bad star joins Fallout's season 3 after being a fan for over 16 years

Emmy-winning actor Aaron Paul is finally joining the cast of Prime Video’s Fallout for its third season. The news comes from Deadline and marks another big win for the post-apocalyptic series, which has already topped streaming charts in recent months.

For now, Aaron Paul’s role in Fallout Season 3 has been kept a secret. What’s interesting is that Aaron Paul has been a big Fallout fan dating back to the launch of Fallout: New Vegas. He attended a launch party for Fallout: New Vegas at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, exactly 16 years before becoming a part of the Fallout universe.

Old photos of a young Aaron Paul have also resurfaced, depicting him chatting with fans and Bethesda devs at the event. He was also working on AMC’s Breaking Bad at the time.

He’s been pretty active in the Fallout Amazon Prime Video adaptation scene, doing his part to keep the fandom alive. He showed up at the Hollywood premiere of Fallout Season 1 and the London screening for Fallout Season 2.

In a previous interview with IGN, Fallout Amazon Prime Video producer Jonathan Nolan recalled Paul’s excitement at the premiere.

He said, “Yeah, Aaron Paul was at the premiere at the time, a human being I love so much. And he was very polite. He was very enthusiastic about the show. There was sort of an unspoken kind of like, ‘What’s up, man?’ But we’ve been hearing from so many people, and it’s kind of fun to see the Fallout fans come out of the woodwork, people you’ve known a long time, and you realize, ‘Oh, you’ve been playing this whole time?’”

Aaron Paul joining Fallout’s third season makes sense, considering that he worked with Nolan and Joy on HBO’s Westworld, where he played a major role until the end.

He has also starred in some video game adaptations, such as the 2014 Need for Speed movie. He also voiced Nyx Ulric in the 2016 film Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. In 2025, Aaron Paul lent his voice to Dispatch protagonist Robert Robertson III, who dons the mantle of Mecha Man.
