Boox upgrades its Go 10.3 e-ink tablet with a front light and Android 15

Boox is refreshing its Go 10.3 lightweight e-ink tablet with two new models. To recap, the Go 10.3 was launched in 2024 with a 10.3-inch, 300 PPI monochrome display and Android 12, making it a compelling alternative to Kindles and reMarkable devices, especially for users who want access to native Google apps. Now, the company has introduced a follow-up to the original model, the Go 10.3 (Gen II) Series.
The new Go 10.3 (Gen II) series is available in two models: a base Go 10.3 (Gen II) and a Go 10.3 (Gen II) Lumi with an adjustable front light, meaning you can finally use the tablet in dim environments or at night. Without a front light, the original model was practically unusable in low-light environments. Additionally, both models now run Android 15, which brings improved security features and smoother performance compared to Android 12.
That said, the Lumi model is also slightly lighter at 364 grams compared to the Gen 1's 375 grams, despite adding a front light, although it is 0.2 mm thicker. The base model is the lightest at 360 grams and measures 4.6 mm thick, the same as the original. Aside from the front light and minor weight changes, the rest of the hardware remains unchanged.
Under the hood, the Go 10.3 (Gen II) series packs an octa-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, and a 3,700 mAh battery. Both models feature dual speakers and come with a Magnetic InkSense Plus stylus and a slim magnetic case. The new Boox Go 10.3 (Gen II) is now available via Amazon and directly from Boox, priced at $419.99 for the base model and $449.99 for the Lumi.
