Peropesis 3.2 keeps the CLI-only world alive with the 6.18.2 kernel, Bash 5.3, and more

Earlier this year, we missed the Peropesis 3.1 release, which came with a generous list of updated packages and new apps, including php 8.5.1 and pciutils 3.14.0. That version was packaged inside a 335 MB ISO and launched on January 1st. Now, version 3.2 is here with 12 new pieces of code and about twice as many updated packages. The 64-bit live ISO, the only version available, now has a size of 410 MB.
Without further ado, these are the 12 new apps coming with Peropesis 3.2:
- Git 2.53.0 (version control system).
- Ruby 4.0.1 (interpreted scripting language).
- LibYAML 0.2.5 C (library for parsing and emitting YAML).
- Asciidoctor 2.0.26 (text processor).
- WeeChat 4.8.2 (text-based chat client).
- Libgcrypt 1.12.1 (general-purpose cryptographic library).
- Libgpg-error 1.59 (library that defines common error values).
- GnuTLS 3.8.12 (secure communications library).
- Nettle 4.0 (cryptographic library).
- TCL 9.0.2 (interpreted language).
- Lua 5.5.0 (scripting language).
- Patch 2.8 (patcher).
The list of updated components includes binutils, vim, nano, ncurses, glibc, grub, php, and others. Those who want to check the full list of software included in Peropesis 3.2 can find it on this page. The GNU GPL or BSD licenses cover most of the included software, and the system remains free. Sadly, it only works with 86_64-bit architecture processors, so it can't be used on VERY old hardware.
