The new BenQ PV3200U is marketed as a relatively affordable monitor for professional creatives. With a full-screen brightness of 400 nits and a 60Hz refresh rate, the display isn't suitable for editing HDR videos or for gaming, but it could be ideal for editing SDR videos and regular image editing.
This 32-inch IPS panel boasts 4K resolution, and it can fully display the sRGB and Rec.709 color spaces, along with 95 percent of DCI-P3. The monitor’s surface is anti-glare. Conveniently, BenQ’s software allows users to adjust the brightness using their MacBook keyboard and automatically synchronize colors between the integrated MacBook display and the PV3200U via a so-called MacBook mode. Moreover, the BenQ Display Pilot 2 software makes switching color profiles and adjusting monitor settings a bit easier.
A unique feature of the new BenQ 4K monitor the included hotkey puck, which has three programmable buttons, a rotary dial and a back button. This puck can be used to quickly change display settings and navigate through the on-screen menu. Also rather unusual is the integrated sound system, which features two front-facing 2W stereo speakers and a 5W subwoofer. In addition to three HDMI 2.0 ports, the MacBook-suitable monitor has a USB-C port that can charge laptops with up to 65 watts and connect to the built-in USB hub with three additional USB-A as well as single USB-C port.
