EA has announced that Battlefield 6 will require an RTX 5080 to run at 4K, 240 FPS+ at ultra settings. This will require frame generation and the game will support DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation at launch.

In just two days (October 10), Battlefield 6 will be available to the public on PC and consoles. For PC gamers, EA has shared a more detailed list of requirements and they include a maxed out graphics target called ‘Ultra++’ and as the name suggests, this is the highest level of visual fidelity with high frame rates that the game can be played in. Fortunately, those who like to max out those graphics sliders, DLSS 4 support is available to help hit those high frame rates.

The official Battlefield account posted on X yesterday (October 7) a final PC specs list to run the game at different graphical targets (attached below). While the ‘Minimum’ and ‘Recommended’ specs remain the same as shared prior to the betas, the ‘Ultra’ and ‘Ultra++’ targets are more demanding. The ‘Ultra++’ in particular, requires an RTX 5080 paired with either a Core Ultra 9 285K or a Ryzen 7 9800X3D (buy on Amazon).

The ’Balanced’ performance mode is Battlefield 6 at 4K @ 144 FPS at high settings, but this can only be achieved with assistance from DLSS upscaling. The ‘Performance’ mode, on the other hand, is the game targeting 4K @ 240 FPS+ at ultra settings. This is only possible with some artificial frames and fortunately, Battlefield 6 has been confirmed to support DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation (MFG) at launch.

Nvidia has announced that Battlefield 6 will launch with support for DLSS 4 with MFG, DLSS Frame Generation, DLSS Super Resolution, DLAA, and Nvidia Reflex. This will allow gamers with RTX 50 series GPUs to max out the settings and still run the game at high frame rates that are fit for a fast-paced FPS like Battlefield 6. Those with RTX 5090 or RTX 5080, or even RTX 5070 Ti/RTX 5070 GPUs will be able to do all this at 4K, of course, when paired with the right CPU. In its benchmarks using a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 64 GB of RAM, DLSS 4 MFG turned on and the game at ultra settings, Nvidia shows that the RTX 5080 crosses 330 FPS, the RTX 5070 Ti gets over 290 FPS, and the RTX 5070 sits just under 240 FPS.

EA ensured that Battlefield 6 will run smoothly on a wide range of hardware specifications, including older PCs by not adding any ray tracing. It was also mentioned in the past that tuning the game for the less powerful Xbox Series S helped optimize it for other platforms as well, making it easier to run overall.
