Asus releases 14-inch laptop with Ryzen AI 9 H 465, up to 32GB RAM and 27-hour battery

Asus recently added another configuration to its Vivobook Pro 14 lineup. We previously covered the 16-inch model from the same series.

The new configuration comes with AMD's Ryzen AI 9 H 465 processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Asus also offers a higher-end version with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The laptop has two M.2 2280 slots and supports up to 4TB of storage.

AMD's Ryzen AI 9 H 465 is a 10-core, 20-thread processor based on the Zen 5 architecture. It can reach up to 5.0 GHz and comes with integrated Radeon 880M graphics. The processor also has an XDNA NPU rated at up to 50 TOPS for AI workloads.

The laptop has a 14-inch OLED display with a 2,880 x 1,800 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio. Asus lists 100% DCI-P3 coverage, a 0.2 ms response time and up to 1,100 nits of peak brightness. The panel also supports HDR and has DisplayHDR 1000 certification.

The Vivobook Pro 14 measures 17.9 mm thick and weighs around 1.39 kg. It has an 80Wh battery and Asus' IceCool Pro cooling system with a 75 mm fan, heat pipe and copper cooling fins. Asus advertises up to 27 hours of battery life and says the laptop can charge to 50% in 30 minutes. The cooling system also allows the laptop to run at up to 80W in high-performance mode.

There are two USB-A 3.2 ports, a USB4 Type-C port, another USB-C 3.2 port, HDMI 2.1 and a 3.5mm audio jack. Both USB-C ports can also be used for Power Delivery.

The new Ryzen configuration is CNY 300 (around $45) cheaper than the 16GB/512GB Intel version of the Vivobook Pro 14, which uses Intel's Core Ultra 7 356H. We recently compared the two processors across 41 benchmarks, with the Core Ultra 7 356H scoring 110% compared with 100% for the Ryzen AI 9 H 465. The Ryzen version uses USB4, while the Intel model comes with Thunderbolt 4.

In China, Asus sells the laptop under the Fearless branding, while it is known as the Vivobook Pro 14 in global markets. The Ryzen Edition (M5450) with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is listed for CNY 7,499 (around $1115) in China. Asus has not confirmed international pricing or availability for this particular configuration.

Asus also offers the Vivobook Pro 16 with the same Ryzen AI 9 H 465 processor. Compared with the 14-inch model, it has a larger 16-inch 2.5K 165Hz OLED display but weighs around 1.65 kg, about 260 g more. The 16GB/512GB version costs CNY 200 (around $30) more than the new 14-inch configuration.
