Following our report last weekend, it has now emerged that Asus is planning a Renoir refresh of the VivoBook 14. Brought to our attention by @_rogame, the VivoBook 14 is said to be offered with the Ryzen 5 4500U and Ryzen 7 4700U. Additionally, the device will have 8 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR4-3200 RAM, along with a 256 GB or 512 GB SSD from Western Digital and Samsung, respectively.
While a Renoir refresh is interesting of itself, @_rogame claims that Asus has developed a Tiger Lake-U model too. Likely the Core i7-1165G7, the account reports that Asus will pair the processor with a GeForce MX350. Specifically, the 25 W variant of NVIDIA's entry-level GPU.
The Core i7-1165G7 will come with Intel's Gen12 Xe GPU. As we recently reported, initial benchmarks suggest that the Gen12 Xe will offer comparable performance to AMD's RX Vega GPUs, which can compete with NVIDIA's entry-level offerings. Perhaps unsurprisingly then, followers of @_rogame have questioned the reasoning behind pairing a Tiger Lake-U series processor with a GeForce MX350.
