Deal | Asus discounts 14-inch gaming laptop with AMD Strix Halo and 32 GB RAM

The FA401EA took a long time to come to market. Announced in January, the FA401EA was one of two TUF Gaming A14 laptops that graced CES 2026 in Las Vegas. For reference, the FA401GM combines AMD's Ryzen AI 9 465 with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU to effectively replace the older FA401WV with a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU (curr. $1,499 on Amazon).
By contrast, the FA401EA relies upon AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ 392 APU and its Radeon 8060S iGPU. Currently, the FA401EA remains one of the only Strix Halo-powered gaming laptops even four months after its debut. The Legion 7 15ASH11 should be launching later this year, though. In the meantime, Asus has already started discounting the FA401EA in the UK.

At the time of publication, Asus is selling the FA401EA for £1,599 with 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage and a 73 Wh battery. Initially, the company priced the laptop in the UK at £1,649 before increasing it £1,799. Unfortunately, Asus has not clarified when this reduction will end.
For context, the company has discounted the 2025 edition to £1,099 with the same display and battery capacity as its 2026 counterpart. Thus, the 2026 edition is 45% more expensive than its predecessor. However, this 2025 edition drops to a Ryzen 7 260 and 16 GB of RAM, as well as a GeForce RTX 5050 laptop with 8 GB VRAM. In comparison, the FA401EA can assign up to 24 GB VRAM to its Radeon 8060S iGPU. Please see Asus' website for more details.
