Lenovo confirms global release for new 15-inch gaming laptop with 48 GB VRAM

A few months have passed since Lenovo embraced AMD's Strix Halo platform in a gaming laptop. Announced in March, the Legion 7a 15ASH11 was one of many laptops that Lenovo brought to MWC 2026 in Barcelona. Two months on, and Lenovo has finally confirmed multiple hardware specifications that were missing on launch day.
For instance, the Legion 7a 15ASH11 will launch with the same Ryzen AI Max+ 392 APU as the TUF Gaming FA401EA but with a 15% larger battery. In short, the Legion 7a 15ASH11 should be about as powerful as the ROG Flow Z13 in games, which we reviewed last year (curr. $2,349 on Amazon).
Lenovo's laptop will be available with up to 64 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM too, meaning that up to 48 GB VRAM can be assigned to its Radeon 8060S iGPU. The laptop's full list of hardware specifications is as follows:
- AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 392 APU
- 32 GB or 64 GB LPDDR5X-8000 RAM
- Dual M.2 2242 SSD slots
- 84 Wh battery with 180 W charging
- 15.3-inch OLED, 2,560 x 1,600, 165 Hz VRR, 500 nits SDR, 1,100 nits HDR
- 1.5 mm keys, 0.3 mm key dishes, single-zone RGB
- 345 x 244 x 15.5~15.9 mm / 1.55 kg weight
Unfortunately, pricing remains unknown for now. Lenovo has not added the Legion 7a 15ASH11 to its PSREF website yet, either. However, it has listed the laptop on its Australian, French, German, Irish and UK websites to name but a few. Also, Lenovo refers to the same laptop as 'coming soon' on its Canadian and US websites, albeit without dedicated product listings for now. Hence, it seems that Lenovo may finally be closing in on releasing its first AMD Strix Halo-powered laptop globally.
