Lenovo releases new 15-inch laptop globally with Intel Panther Lake

Lenovo has been gradually updating its IdeaPad Slim range with new models over the last few months. For instance, the company released the 13-inch and 15-inch versions of the IdeaPad Slim 5x Gen 11 in April, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 platform. Before that, Lenovo released 16-inch versions of the IdeaPad Slim 5 with AMD Gorgon Point and Intel Panther Lake processors.
Now, the company has updated the IdeaPad Slim 3 to Intel's Panther Lake platform with a 15.3-inch and 16:10 display. Effectively, the IdeaPad Slim 3i 15IPH11 replaces the older 15IRU10, which was available with Raptor Lake-U series processors like the Core 5 120U (curr. $415 on Amazon). By contrast, the IdeaPad Slim 3i 15IPH11 can be configured with either the Core Ultra 5 322 or Core Ultra 7 355 in most markets, as well as up to 24 GB RAM. Please note that Lenovo solders 8 GB of that and leaves a single SODIMM available for upgrading purposes.
Additionally, Lenovo offers 50 Wh or 60 Wh batteries that support 65 W charging. Moreover, the laptop can be configured with Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, which Lenovo complements with Bluetooth 5.3 and Bluetooth 5.4 modems, respectively. The IdeaPad Slim 3i 15IPH11 should be configurable with up to a 1600p and 165 Hz OLED display at some stage, too. However, only a 1200p and 60 Hz alternative can be purchased currently featuring 400 nits peak brightness and 45% NTSC colour space coverage.
The IdeaPad Slim 3i starts at £949.99 in the UK with the Core Ultra 5 322 and between €1,019-€1,319 with the same processor. Meanwhile, Lenovo is only offering a pre-configured model in North America for the time being with a Core Ultra 7 355, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. At the time of publication, this SKU sells for CAD 1,679 and $1,199 in the US.
