Lenovo releases new 15-inch laptop globally with 165 Hz OLED display and 70 Wh battery

Lenovo has expanded the availability of one of its new laptops to Europe. For context, the company launched the IdeaPad Slim 5x 15Q8Y11 in North America a few weeks ago. Shortly afterwards, the smaller 13Q8Y11 variant arrived in Europe, which serves as a smaller and more powerful alternative to the IdeaPad Slim 5 14Q8X9 (curr. $775 on Amazon).
Now, Lenovo has filled in the gaps by launching the larger 15Q8Y11 in Europe. To recap, the laptop combines Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Plus X2P-42-100 chipset with LPDDR5X-9523 RAM and an optional 70 Wh battery. Additionally, Lenovo sells 1200p IPS or 1600p OLED display options with 120 Hz and 165 Hz refresh rates, respectively.
Alternatively, the laptop can be picked up for £1,440 with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage while retaining a Snapdragon X2 Plus X2P-42-100 chipset. Currently, Lenovo charges £40 for a 1600p OLED display and nothing extra for a 70 Wh battery.
By contrast, starting prices vary between €1,199 and €1,259 in the Eurozone with the same battery, memory and display configurations offered in the UK. Meanwhile, the IdeaPad Slim 5x 15Q8Y11 costs at least AUD 2,449 in Australia with the same base configuration as elsewhere. Lenovo only sells its new 15.3-inch ARM-based laptop with a 1600p OLED display in Australia, though.
