Asus ROG Strix G18 (2025) goes to pre-order with 240Hz display and RTX 5080 graphics
The 2025 ROG Strix G series was introduced at CES 2025 with RTX 5070- to 5080-powered 16- and 18-inch variants in both Intel and AMD flavors.
They might fly under the radar a little compared to their outright flagship Strix Scar counterparts with lids devoid of active AniME Matrix LED animations - then again, they have a full suite of RGB underlighting and a light-up ROG logo on top, all making for a generally cleaner, more Zephyrus G-series, appearance.
The new Strix G variants are also touted to "elevate gaming experiences" with their advanced Tri-Fan-augmented cooling system that includes a new vapor chamber sandwiched by a "full-width" heat-sink and "full-surround vents".
Those are relatively accessible thanks to tool-less maintenance, which also allows the user to swap parts such as the RAM and SSD easily.
In that case, it is almost a shame that the line has debuted in the form of just 1 maxed-out variant: the G18 with 16GB of RTX 5080 graphics; 32GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, a 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD and the Core Ultra 9 275HX.
It also has an IPS version of Asus' 240Hz 2.5K ROG Nebula Display, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and dual Thunderbolt 5 ports.
It is now available to pre-order via Best Buy for the line's top-end price of $2,999.99. Then again, the same store is currently also previewing a Ryzen version of the G16 (2025) with an RTX 5070 Ti and compromises such as a 1080p 165Hz display, "coming soon" at a price of $1,899.99.
