With 2 million players and many more on the way, Ubisoft’s latest instalment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise has already become a hit. Assassin’s Creed Shadows has already surpassed its predecessors like Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
One of the things that players have been gushing about are the graphics of AC Shadows. If played at 4K, the game can deliver some truly picturesque graphics, as pointed out by one of the players in a Reddit post.
In the post titled, ‘This game is one of the first games of this generation that feels next gen,’ the user emphasised on the stunning visuals that AC Shadows delivers. “This game is breath taking. Ubisoft cooked with this game!” the author of the post wrote and attached a few screenshots from the game.
Other players commented that Naoe's hair looked realistic and unlike anything seen before. “Naoe's hair is something else, man. It's so realistically simulated,” one of the Reddit users commented.
“The open world definitely continues to wow me. It's beautiful and the weather effects are stunning. I wish the cutscenes looked a bit better as the facial animations and such look a bit robotic and weird at times but other than that, it looks amazing,” another user wrote.
Considering that the game is well-optimised for PS5, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the graphics are high-quality. However, some players commented that their visuals looked blurry - nothing like the photos. To this, a few players presented solutions like playing the game in ‘Quality Mode’ rather than ‘Performance Mode’ on PS5.
Note that switching to the Quality Mode will reduce the framerate from 60 FPS to 30 FPS, which some players may not like. However, a few redditors opine that the graphics are worth sacrificing that FPS for. “I played for maybe 4 hours today on Quality and tried switching back to Performance and man.. I just don't know if I can give up those beautiful graphics,” one of the players commented.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available in Standard, Deluxe, and Limited editions. The game is available on PlayStation 5 (curr. $69.99 on Amazon), Xbox Series X|S (curr. $89.99 on Amazon), and PC (curr. $69.99 on Amazon).
