Apple is the highest-ranked tech company in latest Forbes Global 2000 list while Xiaomi celebrates a rise through the ranks
The Forbes Global 2000 list for 2020 has been published and the top places are unsurprisingly dominated by finance-related companies. However, Apple made a very strong showing for tech companies by occupying ninth place, while fellow tech giants Alphabet and Microsoft came in tied for 13th position. The rankings show that Apple has a massive market value of US$1.285 trillion and has assets of over US$340 billion.
Moving through the top 100 ranks, you can find Samsung in 16th, Intel in 38th, IBM in 51st (just behind Tencent Holdings), and Sony occupies 58th position. As for other tech companies that are particularly well known for their laptops, Dell is in 127th, HP is in 432nd, Lenovo is in 681st, and Asus manages to make it into the Global 2000 list in 1,850th place. As for Nvidia and AMD (Advanced Micro Devices), they managed 489th position and the 1,039th spot, respectively.
Xiaomi has been celebrating 384th spot in the 2020 list, which is up 42 places from 2019 for the Chinese OEM. As for some of the company’s fiercest rivals, there is no place for OPPO, Vivo, OnePlus, or Huawei in the Forbes Global 2000 rankings, which likely explains why Xiaomi is enjoying its inclusion so much. As for gaming, Activision Blizzard is mentioned in 662nd place, which is a long way back from the aforementioned Tencent Holdings in 50th place, although the huge Chinese conglomerate has operations in many different industries.
