Anker's new strong Prime 240W USB-C cable launching soon
Anker is expected to launch a new Prime 240W braided USB-C to USB-C cable as part of its next big product release on August 7th. Rumors about the product started earlier this year, with some information posted on Reddit by user u/joshuadwx. Further details indicate that it will be the brand's most durable cable.
The upcoming 240W USB-C cable is said to withstand loads up to 100 kg (~220 lbs) and over 300,000 bends. That is significantly more than older models like the 765 USB-C to USB-C cable, which can last up to 35,000 bends. It is unclear whether this makes the cable particularly flexible or stiff. The new accessory will have model number A88E2 and is expected to offer a data transfer speed of 480 Mbps. The braided cable is made from 100% recycled plastic and can operate between temperatures of -40°C to 80°C (-40°F to 176°F).
As was previously noted, the cable will be offered in two lengths, 3 ft (90 cm) and 6 ft (180 cm), priced at $29.99 and $34.99, respectively. Whether or when the model will reach other markets like Europe remains to be seen. Other devices expected to arrive at the event on August 7th include an 8-in-1 Charging Station (240W) and a 2-in-1 Prime Fusion Power Bank (9.6K).
