Anker Prime 6-Port 250W new desktop charger could launch soon
According to recent rumours, a new Anker Prime 6-port 250W desktop charger is on the way. While many similar products from the brand offer dynamic power allocation, this upcoming accessory is said to be unusual in that it offers four power distribution modes.
These include an AI power mode, optimizing for charging efficiency and a low current mode, helping to prevent overcharging if you leave a device plugged in overnight. On top of this, dual-laptop and port priority modes allow you to select one or two ports to receive a higher power output. The six ports include four USB-C, with the first port offering up to 140W output and the other three capped at 100W. The remaining two ports are USB-C for up to 22.5W power. When two devices are charging via USB-C, they can charge at 140W and 100W, respectively. With all six ports in use, the USB-C outputs are 70W, 65W, 45W and 30W, with the USB-A sharing 24W.
You can adjust the settings of the accessory via the Anker app or by using the built-in display, which shows the real-time charging status. It is worth noting that the product is larger than similar devices like the Anker Prime 240W GaN Desktop Charger (4 Ports), measuring 10.4 × 8.9 × 3.7 cm (~4.1 x 3.5 x 1.5 inches). The device, with model number A2683, is expected to arrive as part of a wider Anker Prime Series product launch. The Reddit post indicates that this Anker Prime Desktop Charger (250W, 6-Port) will be released on August 7th, priced at around $200 in the US. However, Anker has not officially confirmed this, with details of any worldwide rollout yet to be announced.
