Users of the Amazfit T-Rex 3 smartwatch are reporting a battery drain issue. According to several Reddit users, the faster-than-expected loss of battery started after the latest update, version 3.4.4.7, which began to roll out to users earlier this month.
Several owners of the T-Rex 3 have said that they typically saw 2-7% daily battery drain but were experiencing a 5-10% loss after the update. Reddit user u/Vizzzions suggested that this could be linked to the new active heart rate monitoring feature. Some T-Rex 3 customers found that disabling this tool, found under the Heart rate app > Settings, did improve the battery life of their wearable.
A member of the Amazfit team has acknowledged this issue and is requesting that users submit feedback accordingly in the Zepp app under Devices > User Feedback. However, the company has yet to indicate when an official fix for the battery drain problem will be released. It is also unclear whether Amazfit has paused the phased rollout of software version 3.4.4.7 until it has fixed this issue for the T-Rex 3 smartwatch (currently $234.99 at Amazon).
