Computex 2024 | Acer TravelMate P4 Spin 14 and TravelMate P4 16 get Meteor Lake vPro upgrades while TravelMate P4 14 embraces AMD Ryzen Pro 8040 options
Alongside the refreshed TravelMate P6 14, Acer is also introducing upgraded versions of the TravelMate P4 lineup at Computex 2024. This includes the new TravelMate P4 Spin 14, TravelMate P4 14, and the TravelMate P4 16.
The new TravelMate P4s have a lot in common with 14-inch 16:10 FHD+ IPS displays, up to 64 GB DDR5 RAM, up to a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD, and FHD IR webcams with Windows Hello biometrics.
Unlike last year, Acer is not offering optional Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050 discrete graphics this time but instead relies on the integrated solutions offered in Intel and AMD CPUs that should offer comparable raster performance.
Acer's suite of commercial solutions including TravelMateSense, Secure Guard, etc. along with various AI functionality come standard on all TravelMate P4 SKUs.
Acer TravelMate P4 Spin 14
The TravelMate P4 Spin 14 (TMP414RN-54) is a customary refresh to last year's model (available on Amazon for US$1,189). The convertible TravelMate P4 weighs 1.49 kg and is only 21.9 mm thick.
Buyers can configure the TravelMate P4 Spin 14 with a choice of Intel Core Ultra processors up to the Core Ultra 7 165U with vPro Enterprise. Acer equips the TravelMate P4 Spin 14 with Wi-Fi 6E and optional 4G LTE. Unfortunately, there's no Wi-Fi 7 or 5G support.
The Acer TravelMate P4 Spin 14 will be available in North America in July starting from US$1,329.99 and in EMEA in Q3 from €1,019.
Acer TravelMate P4 14 (AMD)
While previous gen TravelMate P4 14 offered both Intel Raptor Lake and AMD Zen 3+ Rembrandt-U Pro options (US$1,050 on Amazon), the new TravelMate P4 14 (TMP414-42-TCO) gets an upgrade to Ryzen Pro 8040 Zen 4 APUs up to the Ryzen 7 Pro 8840U.
These APUs support Ryzen AI features, which Acer says will enhance collaboration and productivity. Also onboard are Enterprise Mobility Management features as part of AMD Pro technologies. Buyers also have the option of configuring the TravelMate P4 14 with a 2.2K (2240 x 1400) IPS panel.
The Acer TravelMate P4 14 will be available in EMEA in Q4 starting from €949. Pricing and availability details for North America and other regions are yet to be disclosed.
Acer TravelMate P4 16
The TravelMate P4 16 (TMP416-53) can be considered to be 16-inch version of the TravelMate P6 14 that was announced today.
However, unlike the TravelMate P6 14 or even the P4 14 above, the P4 16 offers neither an OLED option nor a 2.2K IPS display. Only the FHD+ IPS panel is on offer, which might not exactly please pixel peepers.
The Acer TravelMate P4 16 will be available in July in North America with prices starting from US$1,229. EMEA availability begins Q3 starting at €959.
