LG Gram SuperSlim: Lightweight OLED laptop refreshed with Intel Meteor Lake-H architecture and early $600 launch discount
LG has upgraded its Gram laptop range with a new version of the SuperSlim, a 15.6-inch that the company claims 'is an incredibly portable and powerful laptop' thanks to 'weighing just over 2 pounds' and being 'thinner than AA battery'. For context, LG previously offered the SuperSlim with Intel Alder Lake-P processors, which we reviewed almost a year ago with a Core i7-1360P, 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD (curr. $1,619.50 on Amazon).
By contrast, the latest SuperSlim jumps to the Core Ultra 5 125H, the slowest member in Intel's Meteor Lake-H family that actually falls slightly short of the Core i7-1360P in many benchmarks. Additionally, LG has swapped LPDDR5-6000 RAM for its faster LPDDR5X-7467 counterpart, which should improve performance in some areas. The new SuperSlim retains its predecessor's 60 Wh battery though, along with a 15.6-inch OLED display that outputs at 1080p in a 16:9 aspect ratio with 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage.
Moreover, LG continues to equip the SuperSlim with a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports on one side and a single USB 3.2 Type-C port on the other complemented by a 3.5 mm jack. Currently, the new SuperSlim is available for $799.99 in its '15Z90ST-G.AAW4U1' guise. LG's website states that this is an introductory sale though, that reduces the laptop from $1,399.99. However, it is unclear when this higher pricing will take effect; please see LG's website for more details.
