The MINISFORUM V3 has been around for a while now, having been released in April, shortly before Microsoft announced the Surface Pro 11 with Snapdragon X Plus and Snapdragon X Elite chipsets. Initially, MINISFORUM presented the V3 in a single SKU for $1,199 with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U chipset, 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Subsequently, it introduced a cheaper model with 16 GB of RAM for $969, which it then dropped to $899 for a short time.
Now, it is possible to pick up MINISFORUM's more expensive SKU on Amazon US for $949, a $300 saving on its $1,249 MSRP. Please note that while this discount represents a 24% saving, it is only 20% cheaper than its launch pricing. Also, it is unclear when Amazon US' discount will end. By contrast, an equivalent deal on Amazon UK ended later today.
Moreover, it is worth noting that we encountered some issues when reviewing the MINISFORUM V3 a few months ago. As other reviews have noted, the device offers comparatively short runtimes from its 50.82 Wh battery, with under 6 hours achieved in our Wi-Fi battery life test. On top of that, our review unit exceeded 50 °C in some areas when gaming or under full load. With that being said, the MINISFORUM V3 has plenty going for it; please see our detailed review for our full thoughts on MINISFORUM's first 2-in-1.
