Acer Predator XB273UZ: New 27-inch gaming monitor arrives with 270 Hz refresh rate and bountiful USB hub

Acer has introduced the Predator XB273UZ, a new gaming monitor based around a fast IPS panel. As its name suggests, the Predator XB273UZ spans 27-inches. According to Acer, the panel operates natively at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels (WQHD), which corresponds to a 109 PPI pixel density.

Additionally, the monitor has a 270 Hz native refresh rate, which it combines with 1 ms GtG response times or 0.5 ms MPRT. Like its peers, the Predator XB273UZ includes AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility to mitigate image tearing when gaming at high refresh rates. Moreover, the 27-inch panel is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified, which ensures 400 nits peak luminance and true 8-bit colour depth.

Furthermore, Acer has integrated a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, two HDMI 2.0 ports, a 3.5 mm jack and a USB hub. For reference, the latter consists of a single USB Type-C port, plus four USB 3.0 Type-A ports and two USB 3.0 Type-B ports. Also, the monitor has a 100 x 100 mm VESA mount, small stereo speakers and can recharge connected devices at up to 65 W via its USB Type-C port. Currently, Acer charges €649 for the Predator XB273UZ, including taxes. It remains to be seen whether the gaming monitor will be available in other markets though, such as the UK or the US.
