Dough debuts Spectrum Black 4K ES07E3D 32-inch OLED monitor with 240 Hz refresh rate
The company that manufactures the Spectrum line of gaming monitors just announced its newest display. The Spectrum Black 4K ES07E3D features a 32-inch OLED panel with a quick 240 Hz refresh rate.
The ES07E3D has a 31.5-inch diagonal with an aspect ratio of 16:9. It has an OLED panel that peaks at 1000 nits with HDR (400 nits full-screen) and covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut and 98.5 of the DCI-P3 gamut. Dough rates its contrast ratio at 1,500,000:1 and a typical Delta-E of less than 1 (meaning it is very color accurate).
The monitor has a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz with a 0.03 ms response time (gray-to-gray). It supports both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync, which should enable smooth gameplay.
For ports, the Spectrum Black 4K ES07E3D has two HDMI 2.1a ports and a single DisplayPort. These three display inputs all support DSC 1.2, E-DDC, HDR10, and HDCP 2.2. The DisplayPort also supports HBR3 transmission. There are two USB-C inputs, one of which supports DisplayPort 1.4 and up to 100 Watts of power output (20V, 5A). The other USB-C port acts as an upstream connection to the connected computer.
There are two USB-C and two USB-A outputs, all of which are USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps). The USB-C outputs support up to 15 Watts of power (5V, 3A) and the USB-A outputs support up to 5 Watts of power (5V, 1A). Lastly, there is a single 3.5 mm audio jack for audio output.
The ES07E3D uses a Gorilla Glass covering with a DXC anti-glare coating. Dough claims this reduces glare by up to 70% compared to their glossy monitors. There is also a matte option available (Spectrum Black 4K ES07E3F).
Dough stated the new Spectrum monitor will use Black Frame Insertion, which sticks a black frame (essentially turning off all pixels) in between each full-screen refresh. The company claims this improves perceived motion.
Dough will offer the Spectrum Black 4K ES07E3D and ES07E3F on a pre-order basis with an increasing price tag. Initial orders will start at US$699 for the matte version and $799 for the glass version. These prices will steadily increase with each order batch until they hit their respective MSRPs of $1099 and $1299. Once the retail models hit their retail prices, they will be available at Amazon in the U.K., France, Italy, and Germany; B&H; and other retailers that Dough has not yet announced.
