ASUS VX60GT: A sub-US$1,000 15.6-inch multimedia laptop with a Core i7-9750H, GTX 1650 and optional 120 Hz IPS panel
ASUS is bringing another 15.6-inch laptop to market, with the company seemingly pitching it as a multimedia device with specifications to rival the Dell XPS 15 7590. Named the VX60GT, the device measures 359 x 248 x 21.9 mm and weighs 1.9 kg, making it a touch more compact than the ZenBook Pro 15 UX580GE, yet 3 mm thicker.
The VX60GT has a decent selection of ports too, with ASUS including 4x USB, 1x HDMI, RJ-45, and a full-sized SD card reader. Two of its Type-A ports only operate on the slower USB 2.0 standard, but the third Type-A and sole Type-C are both USB 3.1 Gen 1. Sadly, the device only has one SO-DIMM slot, with 4 GB or 8 GB of DDR4-2400 RAM being soldered to the motherboard. Worse still, the device has only a 42 Wh battery, with a 2.5-inch drive bay taking up the space where a larger battery could have gone. All models come with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU though, which has 4 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, while ASUS offers the device with the following options:

Currently, it remains unclear whether ASUS plans to sell the VX60GT outside China. However, the Taiwanese company has published the device manual in a host of languages on its support website, which would be unusual if it were only planning to sell the VX60GT in China. The top of the range model can currently be ordered directly from ASUS or on JD.com for 6,799 CNY (~US$964) 6,999 CNY (~US$992) respectively, with both companies shipping the VX60GT from August 14.
