Introduced in late April 2018 as the first curved monitor to feature Intel Thunderbolt 3 for single-source charging and power, the Samsung ViewFinity CJ79 (LC34J791WTNXZA) remains a relevant piece of hardware in 2023 thanks to Amazon's ongoing 16% discount that takes its price down to US$499.99. Samsung US is currently offering it for the same discounted price, but shows a list figure of US$699.99.
According to Amazon price tracker Camelcamelcamel, the value mentioned above is the lowest price of this monitor so far, and it was reached for the first time on May 15, 2023. The all-time high of US$899.99 is dated September 28, 2021, while the average price (based on the last 50 changes) is US$601.86.
In addition to Thunderbolt 3, this 34-inch QLED curved monitor features a generous resolution of 3,440 X 1,440 pixels, 100 Hz refresh, 4 ms response time, PBP and PIP screen split for multitasking scenarios, 3,000:1 typical contrast ratio, integrated speakers, HDMI, DP, and USB connectivity, and more.
Those who don't need Thunderbolt 3 and want to take advantage of a better deal can get the Samsung ViewFinity S6 (LS34A650UBNXGO), which was released less than a year ago and is currently down to US$435.54 (38% discount, US$699.99 list price).
For both monitors mentioned above, the retail package also includes an HDMI cable and a data cable (Thunderbolt for CJ79 and USB-C for S6). They also come with 90 days of Amazon Music Unlimited, but this offer can only be redeemed by new subscribers.
